Rechargeable battery

The batteries allow you to ride longer on the trails and cover more kilometers. The internal battery with 630 Wh offers a higher capacity, so you can concentrate on the next bend and not on the battery indicator.

Compatible with SHIMANO Deore XT Di2 (optional)

The EP8 (EP801) is compatible with the precise electronic shifting technology of the DEORE XT Di2 and allows you to use the FREE SHIFT and AUTO SHIFT functions. Another plus is the large selection of cranks, chains and chainrings.

The DEORE XT Di2 is available in two versions:

• Fast and easy shifting with HYPERGLIDE+ for 12-speed drivetrains with FREE SHIFT
• Harmonious and durable shifting with LINKGLIDE technology for 11-speed drivetrains with FREE SHIFT and AUTO SHIFT

Advantages:

• Shorter cranks prevent pedal slap and enable a smooth cadence with constant motor support
• Crank lengths: 160 mm, 165 mm, 170 mm or 175 mm

Control everything via the E-TUBE PROJECT Cyclist Cyclist app, from the support level to the AUTO SHIFT settings. You can easily adjust the settings to the terrain and your preferences from the app. You can also save the settings in two different profiles and switch between them while riding.
With 15 customization modes, the ability to fine-tune the AUTO SHIFT and FREE SHIFT settings for DEORE XT Di2 and wireless firmware updates, the app offers maximum control and freedom to customize your riding experience.

Trail mode

Trail mode uses the full 85 Nm of the EP8 drivetrain to support the rider comfortably, safely and reliably on difficult sections. The extremely versatile support mode is optimally tuned by default and requires no further adjustment. This allows you to concentrate fully on conquering the toughest trails. The harder you pedal, the more support power is available to you. This means that you are supported by the drive unit at exactly the right time and always have optimum traction and control. Whether it’s loose sand or steep climbs in the mountains, the drive unit always adapts quickly and independently so that you can concentrate fully on the terrain.
