Lifetime frame warranty
Santa Cruz Bicycles will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace any frame manufactured by Santa Cruz Bicycles that is defective in material or workmanship. The warranty is valid for the life of the frame and is available only to the original owner. Notwithstanding the foregoing, frames purchased prior to May 1, 2015 are covered by the pre-existing warranty for five years from the original date of purchase. In the event of a situation where the warranty does not apply, Santa Cruz Bicycles will offer replacement parts to the original owner at a reduced price for the warranty period described above*

Independently adjustable geometry and progression The Geo-FlipChip raises or lowers the bottom bracket by 4mm and adjusts the steering angle by 0.3 degrees. The Progression FlipChip changes the progression from 26-29%
Bosch Flow App The Bosch Flow App connects your bike experience. You can adjust the support levels, load routes, track tours and see the range. With the Range Control Tool, you can select the right support levels to help you reach your destination safely.
Low center of gravity The integrated 600Wh battery enables a lightweight design and brings agility and riding fun. The optional 250Wh PowerMore range extender gives you the flexibility to increase the range if required.
4 support levels With the tidy, wireless remote on the handlebars, you can switch between four support levels as standard – Eco, Tour, eMTB and Turbo. You can also customize the different modes in the Bosch Flow app
Inconspicuous display – System Controller The integrated display on the top tube – the System Controller – shows the battery charge status and the selected support level. The system controller can also be used to switch on, off and over. The exact battery charge in % and range can be called up via the app.
Robust hardware As is typical for Santa Cruz, the axles and rocker arms are extremely robust, reliable and easy to maintain. Santa Cruz installs high-quality sealed Enduro MAX bearings, which all first-time owners receive as a free replacement for the lifetime of the bike.
Tool Mount The inconspicuous under the top tube allows tools, tubes or an AirTag to be stored neatly on the bike
Frame stiffness A. A solid, one-piece rocker arm provides stiffness and protects the shock from lateral loads. One of many details that set the Santa Cruz Vala apart from other four-bar bikes.
B. The bridge between the seat stays provides additional stiffness so that the suspension runs smoothly and does not twist.
Pivot points The main pivot points run on the legendary, conically clamped axles that Santa Cruz introduced and which are copied by many bicycle brands today. The axles cannot come loose on their own, but are easy to dismantle for maintenance.
Bearings Four large bearings in the chainstay pivot points and an axle that holds everything securely together (no explosions on the workshop floor). No bearing puller is required to remove the bearings for maintenance. Santa Cruz uses larger, more robust bearings than most other brands. Larger bearings are less susceptible to contamination. So the bike rides better and lasts longer. And as with all bike models, Santa Cruz offers free rear bearings for life to the first owner.
Hardware A. The geometry flip chips cannot fall out. To adjust them, simply loosen them, turn them around and tighten them again. This is so simple and quick that you can do it on the side of the road with just an Allen key.
B. The threads in the pivot points on the chainstay, seatstay and shock mount are all replaceable. So if you cause damage because you’re better at biking than wrenching, it’s only a small, solvable problem as the valuable frame remains intact.
C. All screws are designed for 5mm Allen keys, so that a quick screw check is possible at any time. No special tools are required and it’s so easy to work on the bike that even the marketing people can do it (if we hide the sharp tools from them).

Bosch Drive Unit Performance Line CX Motor Generation 5
The Performance Line CX Gen.5 (BDU384Y) motor takes riding dynamics and agility to a new level. It is powerful, light and quiet. Ten years of experience and countless trail rides around the world have gone into its further development. The Performance Line CX motor combines power, dynamics, efficiency and reach. 85-600-340: 85Nm max. torque, 600W max. motor power, 340% max. support factor. These values represent the ideal balance between performance and riding pleasure in relation to wear and tear and range.
Powerful uphill
The maximum torque of 85 Nm has a noticeable effect on your riding performance when eMountain biking. The powerful motor enables powerful acceleration after tight bends and obstacles at a low cadence and simplifies hill starts. For fast sprints, the motor also supports you at high cadences.
Intuitive handling
One mode for more focus: The eMTB mode, specially designed for sporty use, gives you optimum control and intuitive handling, as you don’t have to switch between the different riding modes as often. With this clever eMTB mode function, technical passages can be ridden with confidence and obstacles such as roots and thick branches can be easily overcome with targeted pedal pressure using the Extended Boost. The Performance Line CX drive unit ensures even more riding fun and a flow experience that sets new standards.

Sporty and economical
Sporty riding on a trekking bike or eMTB: With the Tour+ riding mode of the Bosch Performance Line CX, the focus is always on riding enjoyment. It eliminates the need to switch between support modes so that you can concentrate fully on eBiking. With Tour+ mode, you pedal harder on flat stretches than in Tour mode and are more sporty on the road – the riding mode saves power and extends your radius – for even more riding fun! Trail or asphalt – Tour+ mode always suits you. Because it constantly adapts to you. Sensors on the motor measure important riding data more than 1,000 times per second, from which the Tour+ mode derives the optimum support for you. It regulates the additional power so sensitively that you not only get a natural riding experience, but also a greater range with greater power input.
Individual riding experience
The available riding modes can be individually set in the eBike Flow app so that the eBike’s riding characteristics match your own riding style or the route you have chosen. The level of assistance, dynamics, maximum speed and maximum torque of the drive can thus be flexibly adjusted to your personal needs and requirements. Intensive training or an extended eBike tour – the riding modes always offer you the right support and enable even more riding enjoyment.

eMTB mode and Extended Boost
You don’t need any other riding mode to get into the uphill flow. Because that’s what Bosch has developed it for. The eMTB mode reacts progressively to you and recognizes in a flash how much power you want based on your pedal pressure – dynamically, with maximum traction and always in control. With the integrated Extended Boost, all it takes is a targeted kick on the pedal and the Drive Unit pushes you effortlessly over steps and stones.
Push assist and hill start assist
Get to your destination: Helpful functions take the weight off your eMTB when you need to stop in tricky sections. With the push assist, you can easily push your eMTB, while the Drive Unit automatically adjusts the pushing speed to the gradient and surface. In addition, the hill start assist enables a controlled and high-traction start, even on steep terrain. Hill Hold is active in both cases: your eMTB stays in place and does not roll back unexpectedly.

Triumph over the trail: Bosch has developed the eBike Pro for outstanding performance. ABS Pro is ideal for professional eBikers: designed for fast, sporty downhill riding and braking. You can make full use of your braking skills and still feel how the system increases performance.
Compatible with eShift from TRP
Thanks to the electric shifting solution, you can ride to the trail with maximum relaxation and maximum performance on the trail. You can decide whether eShift with TRP should shift automatically for you or whether you want to change gear yourself on varied terrain with fast maneuvers – simply at the touch of a button. Optional PowerMore 250 range extender
Extend the range and enjoy even longer trail fun with the water bottle-sized energy reserve. Compact and 1.5 kilograms in weight, the range extender can be easily attached to the water bottle holder. Minimalist, robust control unit
The System Controller is the control unit for eBikes with the smart system, reduced to the essentials. The deliberately limited number of functions and information facilitates a quick overview and is not distracting while riding. The System Controller is seamlessly integrated into the top tube – this means that the already robust companion is additionally protected, is barely noticeable and is perfect for sporty tours and design-oriented eBike fans.

LEDs display the riding mode and battery charge level in 10% increments using different colors.

Mini Remote
As an additional operating unit, the Mini Remote supplements the System Controller, extends the range of functions and enables safe operation. Like all Bosch PowerTubes, the PowerTube 600 / 800 is perfectly integrated into the frame. An attractive eBike design and high capacity – a combination without compromise. A new, lighter housing has been used for the battery. Provided the eBike manufacturer has prepared the eBike for this, it can be easily replaced – for more or less range.
