With the FOCUS SAM² 6.9 queueing for a lift and shuttle is officially a thing of the past. Everything about this machine is made for down. The bike might be silent and free from annoying acoustics, but the FOCUS SAM² 6.9 screams speed, enabling you to lap the roughest trails at the limit of what your body and mind can handle. This is your e-MTB, when your bike is supposed to do anything but hold you back. Because the FOCUS SAM² 6.9 will elevate your riding to a level you did not know existed. The enduro bike offers multiple downhill-oriented features: It rolls on mullet wheels (front: 29″ / rear: 27,5″), kinematics are optimised for coil shocks and both the head angle and the rear triangle can be adjusted.Of course there is no display on the FOCUS SAM² 6.9 – no distraction, only shredding. It is available with either a 600 Wh or an 800 Wh battery. Both batteries fit the frame with only a different down tube cover – no modification needed. Also, all frames in all sizes are compatible with the 250 Wh range extender, leading to four possible battery configurations from 600 to whooping 1050 Wh. It is the e-MTB for the roughest trails.

Minimalist for maximum performance
Just send it! The FOCUS SAM² is made for the toughest trails in the world. The perfect bike for all gravity fans with maximum demands on an e-mountainbike. It lives up to its claim “Designed for Down”. Fully trimmed for downhill performance, the FOCUS SAM² focuses on maximum control at the highest speeds. The SAM² begs you to let go of the brakes and knows no limits except your own. This is ensured by the sophisticated geometry, perfectly trimmed kinematics and well thought-out equipment. Less is more: reduced to the minimum, nothing distracts you. And this minimum is implemented so perfectly that nothing disturbs your ride. A specialist for specialists. So take your hands off the brakes and off you go on the Luzie.
Designed for Down
Steep is cool, steeper is cooler! The intended use clearly determines the geometry of the SAM²: the SAM² is nice and long and flat without being too extreme. The high front ensures an upright riding position that gives you full control even at top speeds downhill. You’ll never feel like you’re about to go over the handlebars and yet you won’t struggle for grip on the front wheel in open corners. Lots of stack is the magic word. The faster and steeper it gets, the more comfortable the SAM² feels. The “Mullet” concept of the SAM² also contributes to the highest downhill feeling: 29″ wheels at the front ensure rollover behavior, while 27.5″ wheels at the rear ensure agile handling – the best of two dimensions combined in the SAM².
Just as you like it: If you want to customize the SAM² to your individual requirements, you’ll get your money’s worth. Thanks to the Headset Cups and FLIP CHIP in the rear triangle, various geometry combinations are available – and they are easily customizable. With the headset cups, the steering angle can be varied between 63.5° and 64.5°: The flatter the more stable and the steeper the more agile is the simple formula. This allows you to adjust the steering angle to suit your riding style and the terrain. Particularly good: this also works easily with the fully integrated cables without having to spend hours screwing. With the FLIP CHIP in the rear triangle, you can choose between 441 or 448 mm chainstays to tune the balance of the SAM². Rowdy or stable – you decide! Both settings work with the same number of chain links. Focus recommends the short 441 mm setting for frame sizes S and M and the long 448 mm chainstays for L and XL, but ultimately the decision is up to you. Trying it out is expressly encouraged! The difference, especially in terms of handling when cornering, is enormous.
Specially tuned for downhill riding
The heart of the FOCUS SAM² is its suspension: it provides a lot of support and feedback from the ground without hardening or losing traction. The kinematics are fully tuned to steel spring dampers, and a lot of heart and soul went into the firm, internal tuning of the suspension. As a result, the SAM² offers plenty of reserves and ensures a ride that is always free of bumps. The best thing about it: it only releases its travel when it is really needed. The bike masters big road gaps and nasty rock gardens at high speed just as well as steep, wet root passages on an enduro race track.
Uncompromising for gravity use
The SAM² is uncompromisingly equipped for gravity use from front to back. This starts with the downhill tires and doesn’t stop with the brute brakes. The soft 2.5″ tires used not only provide plenty of grip, but also offer excellent puncture protection, while 220 mm brake discs reliably grip even on the longest descents and bring the SAM² to a halt in record time. In combination, the tires and the rear end, which is also active when braking, always generate enough traction to translate the braking power into deceleration. Added to this is the great maneuvering freedom at the rear thanks to the lowerable seat post with plenty of travel. Despite the loading port, the short seat tube offers sufficient space for long seat posts: between 150 mm and 210 mm depending on size.
a 38 mm suspension fork, steel spring shock absorber and 40 mm stem are just as much a part of the mission-oriented spec as the conscious decision to opt for an all-aluminum package: the frame, wheels and handlebars can take a beating and ensure that you can keep on riding, even when things get bumpy. Uncompromising also means leaving out what is unnecessary or annoying: a display was deliberately omitted and the cables minimized thanks to wireless remote. The remaining seat post and brake cables are also routed without rattling. And thanks to the extensive chainstay protector, the SAM² is absolutely quiet on the trail.
Always one more lap
Once again! Thanks to the full Bosch power, the SAM² always demands another lap. Generation 5 of the Bosch Performance Line CX motor is as reliable as ever. On paper, the new Bosch Performance Line CX delivers just as much power (85 Nm) as its predecessor, but on the trail it can push noticeably longer and harder, especially on steep ramps, even though it is significantly quieter. And most importantly: no annoying engine rattling disturbs your descent.
With the FOCUS SAM², you also have the choice between the lighter and cheaper 600 Wh battery and the larger 800 Wh version. You can choose according to your wishes, both can be easily removed from the down tube. Nothing stands in the way of a later upgrade either; all you need is a different cover for the down tube. With the compatible Bosch Range Extender, even up to 1050 Wh are possible. The top model is an exception: the SAM² 6.0 is only available ex works with the 600 Wh battery to optimize the look and handling. If you still want the top model with an 800 Wh battery, you can upgrade at the dealer.
The subtle differences
Is that a carbon frame? With its polished and smoothed weld seams and the two-tone metallic paint finish with painted main link, the SAM² has a higher quality look than most aluminum bikes. Leave your backpack at home! Thanks to the small frame bag for tube, multitool and spare parts, as well as enough space for large water bottles, you always have all your trail essentials on board. It doesn’t just look good: The new C.I.S. 2.0 stem not only ensures a tidy cockpit, everything can also be adjusted as on a conventional cockpit because the cables and lines no longer run through the stem. The SAM² has been thought through and styled down to the smallest detail: – The speed sensor is integrated and therefore invisible in the wheel. – The particularly thick, bolted chainstay protector makes the bike quieter than ever. – The motor cover is particularly robust. – Lots of specially manufactured parts such as the specially designed cover for the charging socket enhance the overall appearance of the SAM². – The SAM² is approved for category 5 and tested for a maximum system weight of 150 kg.

The Performance Line CX Gen.5 (BDU384Y) motor takes riding dynamics and agility to a new level. It is powerful, light and quiet. Ten years of experience and countless trail rides around the world have gone into its further development. The Performance Line CX motor combines power, dynamics, efficiency and reach. 85-600-340: 85Nm max. torque, 600W max. motor power, 340% max. support factor. These values represent the ideal balance between performance and riding pleasure in relation to wear and tear and range.
Powerful uphill
The maximum torque of 85 Nm has a noticeable effect on your riding performance when eMountain biking. The powerful motor enables powerful acceleration after tight bends and obstacles at a low cadence and simplifies hill starts. For fast sprints, the motor also supports you at high cadences.
Intuitive handling
One mode for more focus: The eMTB mode, specially designed for sporty use, gives you optimum control and intuitive handling, as you don’t have to switch between the different riding modes as often. Push assist and hill start assist
Get to your destination: Helpful functions take the weight off your eMTB when you need to stop in tricky sections. With the push assist, you can easily push your eMTB, while the Drive Unit automatically adjusts the pushing speed to the gradient and surface. In addition, the hill start assist enables a controlled and high-traction start, even on steep terrain. Hill Hold is active in both cases: your eMTB stays in place and does not roll back unexpectedly.
